Southern Skin and Wellness is located directly in the heart of the New Orleans CBD.
Fractional erbium resurfacing is the main approach. Controlled columns of injury through the scar prompt the skin to lay down new collagen over the following months, which lifts and thickens the depressed band and blends its edge into the surrounding skin.
A vascular laser is added where the marks are still red, to treat the colour directly.
Microneedling is an option for patients who want less downtime, generally with a longer series for a comparable result.
Treatment is performed by Dr. Michael Lindley, MD, assisted by Kathryn, RN.
The colour of a stretch mark tells you a great deal about how well it will respond.
Location matters too. Marks on the abdomen and thighs generally respond less completely than those on the arms or breasts, because of how the skin is loaded.

Expect improvement in texture, depth and how much the marks catch the light, across a series of treatments spaced weeks apart. Expect the change to keep developing for months after the last session, because collagen remodels slowly.
Do not expect them to disappear. The realistic outcome is marks that are harder to see and that you stop thinking about — not skin that looks as if they were never there.
Patients with deeper skin tones are treated more conservatively, because stretch marks and post-inflammatory pigment change frequently occur in the same skin. That is a reason to go carefully, not a reason not to treat.
