Southern Skin and Wellness is located directly in the heart of the New Orleans CBD.
IV therapy delivers fluids and nutrients directly into the bloodstream, bypassing digestion. Treatment takes about an hour and most patients return to normal activity afterward.
How patients respond varies. Vitamin levels depend on what the body needs at the time, and water-soluble nutrients delivered in excess of requirement are cleared by the kidneys rather than stored.
The process is straightforward. We place an IV in a vein in your arm and the formulation you have chosen drips slowly into the bloodstream. Most sessions take about an hour. Most patients tolerate it well and resume normal activity afterward; some find the IV placement uncomfortable.

Patients commonly use IV therapy for hydration and recovery — after illness, travel, athletic exertion or alcohol — and for replacing specific nutrients identified as low. It is supportive care rather than treatment for any disease, and it does not replace evaluation by a physician for symptoms that need one.
That depends on what you are addressing. Hydration is immediate and single sessions are common. Nutrient repletion may call for a series. We will discuss what makes sense for you at your visit.
Hangover Heaven is an IV treatment intended to rehydrate and to ease the symptoms that follow a heavy night. Treatment includes IV fluid, Zofran, Toradol and magnesium, with thiamine (B1) and folic acid available.
Rehydration is the part that reliably helps. Zofran addresses nausea and Toradol addresses headache and inflammation — both are prescription medications, which is why this is administered in a clinical setting rather than sold as a wellness product. It is symptom relief, not a cure, and it does not make drinking safer.
The Energy Infusion contains L-taurine, thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacinamide (B3), dexpanthenol (B5), pyridoxine (B6) and hydroxocobalamin (B12), delivered with IV fluid.
The B vitamins in this formulation are part of how the body converts food into usable energy. Patients who are genuinely low in them — B12 in particular — can feel a real difference once that is corrected. Patients who are not generally will not, and much of what people notice from any infusion is the hydration. Dr. Lindley would rather test for a deficiency than sell you an infusion for one you do not have.
The Myer's Cocktail is the best known of the IV vitamin formulations and the one patients ask for most often. It contains thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacinamide (B3), dexpanthenol (B5), pyridoxine (B6), hydroxocobalamin (B12), magnesium, vitamin C, glutathione and zinc, delivered with IV fluid.
These are nutrients the body needs, given intravenously rather than by mouth. Patients choose this infusion for general wellness and hydration. What it does for any individual depends largely on whether they were short of these nutrients to begin with. It is not a treatment for any medical condition, and we do not offer it as one.
Skin Bright is an IV formulation built around vitamin C, with biotin, thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacinamide (B3), dexpanthenol (B5), pyridoxine (B6) and hydroxocobalamin (B12).
These are nutrients involved in skin, hair and nail health. Patients choose this formulation as a supportive addition to a skincare routine rather than a replacement for one, and what it does for any individual depends on whether they were short of these nutrients to begin with.
The Immune Booster contains vitamin C, zinc sulfate, magnesium, manganese, copper, thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacinamide (B3), dexpanthenol (B5), pyridoxine (B6) and hydroxocobalamin (B12), delivered with IV fluid.
Zinc and vitamin C are involved in normal immune function, and patients often choose this formulation during travel or a demanding stretch at work. It is not a treatment for, or a preventive against, any infection, and it is not a substitute for vaccination or for medical care when you are genuinely unwell.
Quench delivers IV fluid directly into the bloodstream, which rehydrates faster than drinking does. Patients use it after illness, heat, exertion or travel. Add-on ingredients are available if you want a customized formula.
Rehydration is the part that reliably works. For most people who are simply thirsty, water does the same job for free — this is worth the visit when oral intake is not keeping up.
The Skinny Shot is an intramuscular injection of lipotropic compounds and B vitamins: methionine, inositol, choline, cyanocobalamin (MICC/B12), glutathione, thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacinamide (B3), dexpanthenol (B5) and pyridoxine (B6).
Lipotropic injections have a long history in weight loss practices, but the evidence that they produce weight loss on their own — independent of diet and exercise — is weak. We offer them because patients ask for them and because the B12 component has value for patients who are low. If weight loss is your actual goal, Dr. Lindley will tell you plainly that our medical weight loss program is the more effective route.
NAD+ is an IV treatment that delivers nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide directly into the bloodstream. NAD+ is a coenzyme involved in cellular energy metabolism, and patients typically use this infusion seeking support for energy and mental clarity.
Research into NAD+ is ongoing and much of it is early. It is not a treatment for any disease, and we do not offer it as one. Dr. Lindley will discuss what is and is not established before you decide whether it is worth your time and money.
IV Therapy is an individualized IV treatment designed to target your concerns and health goals. We can create a customized treatment specifically for you, or you can add any custom requests to an existing treatment.
Most healthy adults can receive IV therapy, but it is not for everyone. Heart failure, kidney disease, uncontrolled blood pressure and certain medications all change the calculation, because an infusion delivers fluid and electrolytes into the bloodstream directly.
IV therapy also carries its own small risks — bruising, irritation of the vein, and rarely infection. We review your medical history before your first infusion, and Dr. Lindley will tell you if a formulation is not appropriate for you, or if there is nothing in it that you need.
